Donna Huber’s childhood was not a typical one. Her father was in “Retail” and was transferred frequently. Because Donna traveled often as a child, this type of life became normal for her and she continues to travel to this day. Now performing as Shania Twin, the top Shania Twain tribute.

After leaving home, Donna settled in the small village of Thessalon, Ontario. She resided there for 3 years and was extremely successful with her small bakery business which she operated from her farm house situated on 160 acres of land.

She then moved to Sudbury to live and work with her sister. It was here that she was surprised and pleased to receive compliments from strangers commenting on how she looks like “Shania Twain”. Even Shania Twain had commented that after seeing a poster of Donna, “I thought that was me!!! Donna is the best ‘Shania Twain tribute out there.”

Donna put in countless hours practicing to sing like Shania, watching her videos over and over, studying to emulate her moves and the way she presented herself.

Donna met with an agent in the music business and after listening to her sing, and not to mention her uncanny resemblance to one of country music’s most beautiful and successful women, it was obvious that Donna was about to embark on something that would change her life forever.

They worked to put a band together, practiced for a few months, and the rest is history. Donna has been on the road since March of 1996 as the most successful Shania Twain tribute Act in Canada and throughout the United States and Europe.

It’s called, Who are these people, anyway? and it’s a fundraiser for SPG. It’s taking place on Friday, June 27 at the Trevi Tavern in New Sudbury. Doors are at 6PM, show starts at 7:30. Early bird tickets are $15 and can be bought off our website, Sudburyperformance.ca. After June 20, the price goes up to $20. We recommend our audiences be ages 13+, as there will probably be some adult content involved. So if you love improv games and wacky scenarios, you won’t want to miss this!

MARK MENEI: Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Mark is a high energy comedian who mixes strong crowd work with polished material to bring you one of the freshest acts in Canadian comedy. A bout Glen:

Comic Glen Foster a.ka. “That Canadian Guy” has been one of the top comedians in Canada for over fourty years. A mainstay on the Canadian circuit, Glen didn’t just work the road, he’s one of the comics who built it. And he is still going strong, having recently made his eighth televised appearance at the prestigious Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival. His unique blend of clever, observational humour – with a uniquely Canadian slant along with his ability to entertain a wide variety of audiences have made him much in demand as an entertainer at corporate functions throughout North America and around the world.

Glen’s comedy is clever, intelligent and, for the most part, clean. His act consists of reflections on his own personal experiences, as well as razor sharp commentary on current events and popular culture. Though his material can be a bit dark, and he’s often “politically incorrect”, he approaches even delicate subjects in an affable and disarming way. As Glen puts it, “This is edgy comedy from a guy who has no edges”.

Glen appeared in his first one hour comedy special, “That Canadian Guy” in 2000 and, since then, the moniker has stuck. Many of his fans don’t even know his actual name, but they do know one thing: “That Canadian Guy” is one of the funniest comedians anywhere.

In addition to CBC’s “Just for Laughs”, Glen has starred in two Comedy Network specials and has appeared on numerous other television shows. Scott the camera man comes to her apartment to set up for the taping of her segment and then Jeff her date for the show arrives for the taping. Things get interesting for Susan.

We’ll Always Have PARIS by Marc Coyle

Dave wants to meet a lady but his awkwardness always seems to get in the way, Elaine has been too shy to ever come out of her shell. Somehow they meet in the PARIS restaurant where Mark and Sabina try against all odds to bring them together. Luckily Eva they waitress is there to pick up all the broken pieces and try to keep the whole thing from falling apart.

Set in a backdrop of classic Casablanca movie quotes, Elaine makes a heartfelt admission, she’s not sure what’s worse dying of a lonely heart or a broken one.
